    The wrong cleaner doesn't just fail to clean your seats. Wrong pH strips the coating instead, and that fade doesn't reverse.

    Not Every Cleaner Is Safe

    Many all-purpose cleaners are too alkaline for leather. That high pH breaks down the protective coating and dye instead of lifting dirt.

    First, Name The Material

    A seat described as leather may be coated leather, lighter aniline leather, or vinyl and synthetic upholstery. Each reacts differently to the wrong pH.

  4. Reduce the risk

    Start Where Nobody Looks

    Use a small hidden patch and let it dry before treating the whole seat. A clean-looking wet wipe is not proof that the finish liked it.

    Dirt removal and conditioning solve different problems. Combining them in one bottle can be convenient, but it does not remove the need to identify the surface first.

    A Stripped Finish Won't Come Back

    If the color's already lifted or the finish looks patchy, no cleaner or conditioner restores it. That's a job for a professional re-dye, not a bottle.
